I went to a work conference at the Disney World conference center (Coronado Springs) and it is definitely a different, and enjoyable, experience alone. I've been on big family trips to those types of destinations (Universal, WDW, etc.) and encourage everyone to take a few hours alone if possible to enjoy whatever you want - whether it's the hotel pool, a ride nobody else wants to wait for, or even just enjoying the landscaping and scenery without the pressure of needing to check in for Winnie the Pooh breakfast by 8:45.
