I am a witch who owns a woodworking company (Fabled Fort) with her husband in Ann Arbor, MI. We make handmade furniture for everyday living (i.e. shit you actually need!). Check out our website, fabledfort.com. We will soon be shipping nationwide.
I also have a Substack that is mostly about body/weight stuff, parenting stuff, and deep dives into cultural things like the rise of Instagram coaches, Peloton as a fat lady, and what everyone gets wrong about higher education.
I already found at least three links to further investigate, thanks!
As for me, I have a podcast with my best friend that is a deep dive on Anne of Green Gables and the rest of the Anne Shirley extended universe! We talk about the books, the themes, friendship and family, and any historical or literary context that strikes our fancy, plus whatever we are currently reading--particularly related to women's and girl's experiences. It's been a passion project this last year and we've worked really hard to craft the cozy, thoughtful, interesting podcast we would want to listen to. It's Kindred Spirits Book Club anywhere you listen to podcasts, or you can find all our episodes here as well: https://kindredspiritsbookclub.podbean.com/ .
If you have fond memories of reading any of the Anne books or watching the 1985 miniseries, come listen to us!
OMG. As an obsessed Anne Shirley fan, this is just what I needed. The very first bit of parenting advice I ever took seriously about came from this series (when I was the ripe old age of 15).
Oooh, I love hearing what people learned from Anne! What piece of parenting advice did you take from this series? Also listen to Episode 30, we talk all about parenting, specifically, in Windy Poplars! Also, episode 4 is all about Marilla and motherhood!
It was Anne of Ingleside IIRC, and Rilla was a toddler and she hated how Susan would laugh at the things she said. Anne would always take her seriously (even if she and Gilbert would laugh over it in private). That just always stuck with me.
I can’t wait to listen to the episodes you’ve mentioned!
I remember that as well! We haven't gotten to Anne of Ingleside yet (next season after we talk about House of Dreams) but I am looking forward to getting to talk more about Anne as a mother.
Thanks for doing this! I have a free weekly newsletter called Handpicked where I share sparkly links and photos I make on film. I also help other witches get their own newsletters up and running! alexsteele.substack.com
Hey, yall! I post a weekly newsletter inspiring you to send snail mail and make more art! I share snail mail prompts, mailable art templates, monthly juicy historical mail gossip, and a monthly microfiction small enough to fit on a postcard and based on a subscriber-generated prompt :) it’s a lot of fun and gets you making cool stuff!
If anyone is looking for help with their resume, job search, or interviews, I'm your gal. I have a decade and a half of experience in recruiting so I've seen behind the curtain and know how to help you get hired. You can read more or get in touch at www.amplifycareerservices.com.
I'm also a freelance writer, so hit me up if you need someone to write things about business, parenting, or other "adulting"-type topics.
I coach high school seniors with writing their college application essays (started during the TV strike, and love working with teens who are stuck and think they have nothing to write about). If you know a senior who needs some support, I do a two hour workshop on zoom that is super effective (and reasonably priced!) and they leave with an outline for their essay. I also teach for Zibby Classes, and do one-on-one coaching for folks who are having structure issues with their writing projects--particularly good with working with writers who are in overwhelm or snowblind after finishing a draft and don't know where to go next.
I have a bit of a nerdy and dark sense of humour and I love stationery (anyone?!) so I decided to create my own series of dark academia notebooks, some have an ironic witchy quote on the cover, others are tarot learning tools, I have also made DND character notebooks (for stats, and adventure stuff, you know), and also 'the dark side of personal finance revealed' kind of journals... Basically, what I can't find that should exist, I make myself! https://www.canva.com/design/DAFl79T5NVE/rCwYDiZ381S40rBw9OOX3A/view?website
I’m a witch and ensoulment doula that helps people in self transformation transitions. Currently offering a one on one longer container and shorter guidance readings.
I'm a writing coach/catalyst, here to help you write a compelling nonfiction book you're proud of—without grinding yourself to a pulp (we get enough of that from parenting, yes?).
And if you're writing, or thinking about writing, a nonfiction book and the idea of working with an editor makes you wanna hide under to the covers until March, I wrote a book for you. How to Enjoy Being Edited: A Practical Guide for Nonfiction Authors is coming November 6 to the online bookstore of your choice! Details and contact info at www.hannahdk.com.
Thanks for doing this Clarie! I write The Gift, a free Substack newsletter, named after the Lewis Hyde book, which was about making art, and creativity, in our modern world. I write about books, technology, parenting, divinity, and (my) daily life, with some kind of twist. My recent post is "The world is cruel and irrational -- Here's what you can do about it". Sometimes I have advice on spellcasting, too. Would you like to be a free subscriber? https://thegiftbymonika.substack.com/p/the-world-is-cruel-and-irrational
Love this! In my bio I describe myself as an aspiring good witch. And in my weekly Substack, The Sunday Stretch I share evidence-based movements, techniques, research, rituals, and conversations that nourish, replenish, and stretch us for the week ahead. https://thesundaystretch.substack.com/
Thanks so much for doing this several times a year, Claire! I always find some cool witchy people doing cool witchy things.
We may have just unlocked the mystery of how I originally found you 🤩

Ah, yes, that is a helpful thing to include! Thank you!
I'm dying to know what everyone gets wrong about higher ed! What is the article title @wendyrobinson?
Thanks for asking... here is one of them from last year with a focus on college admissions (https://wendyrobinson.substack.com/p/im-an-expert-college-admissions-edition) and here is another with a recap of what the Supreme Court decision on affirmative action really means: https://wendyrobinson.substack.com/p/the-supreme-court-biffs-it-affirmative.

That was be far my favorite series to write because...hoo boy... do I have FEELINGS

+1 for Nancy Reddy’s “Write More, Be Less Careful” newsletter!
Aww, thanks, Betsy! I was just reading all those notes and thinking what an incredibly talented bunch we Witches are!
