What a fun concept and I can't believe I missed a chance to promote myself/my work. In 2023, I'm publishing two things that I'm quite proud of: a 13,000-word essay for Scribd called "The Summer of Fall," which is about all the times (and all the ways) my loved ones and I fell in 2022; and a novel called "Prom Mom" about what happens when a woman who gave birth to a child at a high school prom reunites with her date from that night 20 years later, just as the pandemic is getting under way. (Link won't be up until next week, alas.)

This is amazing, and I've now bought 3 sets of those Shakespeare board books for the under-2s on my list. As that aunt who always gives books, I love finding something new and gorgeous!

This is wonderful! I'm building a resource for women diagnosed with gestational diabetes; it's everything I wish someone had handed me. It's been a truly bonkers amount of work, and I'm so nervous and so excited for people to see it. www.mygdkitchen.com

Thank you--good luck with it. I love that you are building what wasn't there for you. People will really appreciate it. I think GD is so misunderstood and given a bad rap (in terms of having it and testing for it.)

👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 for encouraging self promotion AND providing a space for it. Too many, especially women + POCs, see it as a negative thing and shroud asks and shares in apology instead of valuing themselves and viewing what they're offering as a win-win gift, for self and whomever they share it with. So, yay!

My share is the Mac & Cheese Productions℠ Adulting Kit —

If you feel you missed a day or three of Adulting School (Don't we all?! Who knew your dishwasher has a filter that needs to be changed or that you should order more death certificates than you think you need?) and wish there was ONE spot that no judgment shared life stuff tools and insight, this is for you. The Adulting Kit was created by a husband and wife nerd team known for their spreadsheets and lists, and exists to help your life run quietly in the background so you can focus on what’s important. From death to travel, finance to home, you're encouraged to steal from the creators and tweak to fit you.

“All the things you know you need, plus all the things you didn’t know you needed.”

“My girl Saya has Adulting down to a science and makes it fun!”

“An utterly unique and loving project, made by a real smart person”

“Saya has knocked it out if the park with this. I started diving in and it is pure gold.”

“This Adulting kit is for anyone!!! There is so much to help organize your life and get things on track. The best part is you can refer back to it over and over again! Life throws many curve balls & now I feel I have the help to get through most of them with Saya & Best Friend’s tips & advice.”

“Omg omg omg omg!! Will add all of this into 2023 planning!”

“HOLY SHIT. I am like woaaaa! This is all mine!? Knowing you is the gift that keeps on giving!!”

Price increase January 1st.

Keep putting yourselves and your goodness out there, all!

This is a wonderful and generous post - thanks, Claire. I'm the founder of New Moon Girls. Sharing the creative work of girls - ages 8 to 14 worldwide - is my personal passion. I believe it changes the world for the better. You can see some examples of our feminist monthly online magazine by and for girls at read.newmoongirls.com . We don't carry any ads because they can be undermining to tweens and early teens so subscriptions are what supports this work.

This is a great post! I too write a Substack called...Shut Your Dirty Mouth:

True stories, mostly true stories, untrue stories, art stories, essays, reviews, posey, photography, food sh*t, utter nonsense. All unfiltered & generously sprinkled with a healthy dose of profanity that can’t be published elsewhere.

I love this, how generous! I write a substack about the funny and oft-humiliating cross-section between parenting and the career of an actor in Los Angeles. Follow along with me at https://flamelikeme.substack.com/ !

If you’re a Chicago/Evanston witch looking for a K-8 school, we really love Chicago Friends School https://chicagofriendsschool.org/ in Edgewater and my sixth grader has been there since kindergarten. Super small, mixed age classes (this year is K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8), an hour of recess each day, caring, capable teachers, NO CHRISTMAS PUSHING bullshit

I am thankful for the limited amount of kid-led spirit days (student government decides when they want them and the themes) and no Christmas bullshit. Next week will have some sort of optional snow craft on the last morning before break? I only know bc my kid is leading that one.
