This issue is an experiment! I dropped a little note in last week’s newsletter with a call to paid subscribers that I wanted to do an issue with witches promoting their things. Read on to find something to read, something to buy, something to learn, and other opportunities and also a little look at what type of expertise lies out there among you!
These were self-submitted and I have not tried and tested everyone’s thing so buyer beware (I also do not receive any type of referral fee.) Hope you can hire, read, or support a witch! If you’re a paid subscriber and have a thing to promote feel free to leave it in the comments.

“I run marketing for a small and amazing nonprofit that truly changes lives called the Pat Tillman Foundation. Our scholars are inspirational veterans and military spouses who are making a difference big and small (see this video for one example.) We raise funds through a 4.2-mile race in Tempe, Ariz. called Pat’s Run. We also have a virtual option and I’d love to see some runner witches register and join us.”

“I’ve been doing a newsletter called [Citation Needed] where I round up the latest news and background on Covid (and, hopefully someday, other sciencey stuff). I’m working on one about pediatric vaccines ahead of the FDA deliberations about Pfizer’s <5 vaccines this month.”
*
“I’m a graphic designer who generally works with very proper associations and non-profits so to siphon off my excess of crazy, I have an Etsy shop where I sell things that make me laugh like funny wine tasting cards, non cutesy baby calendars, Wordle stuff, and, most recently, a shirt based on what my tween daughter yelled at me last week: "Mom, your positivity sucks". For the record, I was not being overly positive but rather gently pointing out that I have not invented time travel so we just have to keep moving forward and get to school today.”

End credits
Thanks for reading Evil Witches, a newsletter for people who happen to be mothers. Feel free forward it to someone who could use some of these links. If you haven’t yet I hope you consider becoming a paid subscriber, which supports the newsletters’ independent work and this gets you extra subscriber-only content like fun discussion threads, humor pieces and essays, plus a heads up the next time I do an issue like this if you want your thing listed.
If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions for the newsletter you can reply to this email or talk to other witches on Twitter. The archives live here.
Witches is off next week. My kids have three days off school and my husband is going to be in Hawaii for work ( 🔪 ) and I have three freelance deadlines plus a kids’ Valentines classroom party to volunteer for. You know the drill.
Thank you so much for including me and I've found such great resources! Wonderful idea.
I love how varied these pursuits are. Thanks for accepting my post and supporting the community in this way.
