My son got basically full-body impetigo, which we missed/let fester too long because we just thought it was his eczema gone amok. The doctor congratulated us on how historic it was, and left the room shaking his head and said, "thanks for the memories." So anyway. We're bacteria people too. Solidarity.

Oh my god! I don’t mean to laugh at your poor lizard boy. But that’s a quote for the baby book.

10 days of antibiotics later, and we're all clear! (None of us caught it. The real miracle.) But I've never seen so many medical professionals grossed out. Even though my son never sat down in the waiting room (I had a feeling it was impetigo by the time we took him to the pediatrician's office so I wasn't letting him touch anything), as we were leaving, a full army was sanitizing every surface and chair. I'm still hoping he was oblivious to how repulsed everyone was.

As always, thank you for the gifs they make my day! And I feel you on the poop virus thing. My son caught freaking PINWORMS in the spring (don't google them) and it made us all feel so gross for like a month.

The Fresh Prince gif made me snort out loud at my desk. And I so agree about spouses complaining about a bad night's sleep. Also the worst, spouse is sick but instead of taking to the bed like a normal person, instead claims the couch and TV and watches shitty movies at high volume whilst moaning about the (actually pretty minor) cold. Or just mine?

Someday I'll hear from a lady saying "My husband is sick but it took me a few days to catch on because he's been so quiet about it" but it hasn't happened yet.

This may not contain “content” but it gave me a huge smile, esp “the Worst” (omg spouses complaining about sleep!) and the gifs! And made me feel less alone for also lacking those busyness callouses.

My son *never* had blowouts as a baby. He just didn't. Little poops in the diaper like a weird little man. EXCEPT the day he got his rotavirus shot. On THAT day, he blew out his diaper to a degree never before seen in our household. There was so much poop. Poop everywhere. Poop on child. Poop on table. Poop on clothes. Poop. Just so so so much poop. Poop filled with the live rotavirus we had actively asked for him to be stabbed with.

We tried but there was no amount of hand washing, face washing, child washing or surface sanitizing that could save his parents. Poop virus for all.
